An early morning fire in rural Corona destroyed a barn and an IH tractor and loader and killed approximately 30 goats and an unknown number of chickens.  A snow blower was also destroyed.

According to Kevin Schuelke, director of Grant County Emergency Management, the Corona Fire Department was dispatched to the Robert Pelzel residence at 47046 142nd Street at 6:55 a.m. on Friday, February 24.  When firefighters arrived, they found the barn fully engulfed in flames. Temperatures hovered around 18 degrees below zero, but firefighters still managed to save a nearby outbuilding and a trailer.
