South Dakota’s 73rd  Annual High School All-State Band Grand Concert was held at O’Gorman High School in Sioux Falls on March 25.

Lewis Band, under the direction of Robert Sheldon, performed  ‘Aegean Festival Overture”, “Elsa’s Procession to the Cathedral”, “Pacific Crest”, and “Pas Redouble”.  Ellie Neugebauer, a senior at MHS, played the clarinet.
Clark Band, under the direction of Dr. Andrew Boysen, performed “Finale from Symphony No. 2”, “Smetana Fanfare”, “Song for My Parents”, and “Tutued Toucan Can-Can”.  MHS juniors Rachel and Joe Schulte were members of the Clark Band. Rachel on clarinet and Joe on euphonium.  

Susan Karels, band director for Milbank Middle School and Milbank High School, accompanied the Milbank musicians to the event. If you missed the live performance, catch the broadcast on SDPB TV on April 22 at 8 p.m.
