Kylynn Schwandt Meets Governor Noem During Girls Day Out

What could be better than a Girls Day Out with your mom? Nothing! But Kylynn Schwandt has a special souvenir to remember one of her mother-daughter dates. 
While Kylynn, a sixth-grader at Milbank Middle School, and her mother, Bre Schwandt, were in Watertown pampering themselves with manicures, they noticed South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem in the same salon. As it usually happens when there is more than one woman in a room, some girl talk ensued, and Kylynn left with picture-perfect nails and a fun, keepsake photo.

Bre, a special education teacher at Milbank Middle School, said, “It was a random occurrence. We were just out having a Girls Day, and Governor Noem happened to be there. Kylynn was able to talk with her for a few minutes. It was really nice of Governor Noem to take that time.”
