Cassidy Schwagel, Miss Milbank 2023, and Jenna Dexter and Ashlyn O’Farrell, runners up in The Valley Express Snow Queen Festival, received scholarship money for their participation in the annual event.
The prizes are an integral part of the contest that values scholarship and character. The winner is chosen to encourage other young women to continue their education and to strive for excellence in all areas of their life. She also serves as an ambassador for the community of Milbank.
Each of the trio was honored as part of MHS senior awards ceremony in May. Schwagel received $500, Dexter $250, and O’Farrell, $150. According to Heidi Wellnitz, Milbank School Counselor, approximately $1,180,543 was given to numerous seniors to help further their education.”
