Raul Berrones Pedraza and Nadia Thue to Reign as MHS Homecoming King and Queen

Raul Berrones Pedraza and Nadia Thue were crowned the 2023 MHS Homecoming Queen and King at Coronation held tonight, Monday, September 18. Nadia is the daughter of Chad and Amy Thue. Raul is the son of Lorena Pedraza and Luis Berrones. Camryn Wiese, the 2022 Homeoming Queen, returned to crown the duo.
The 2023 Royalty and their Court : Victoria Nelson, daughter of Sara and Brad Nelson; Olivia Wendland, daughter of Susie and Josh Wendland; Rachel Schulte, daughter of Elizabeth and David Schulte; Stella Wendland, daughter of Susie and Josh Wendland; Jaclyn Wiik, daughter of Jennifer and Joe Wiik; Nadia Thue, daughter of Amy and Chad Thue; Raul Berrones Pedraza, son of Lorena Pedraza and Luis Berrones; Payton Brown, son of Jenny and Patrick Brown; Jaxson Wildung, son of Molly and Nathan Henrich and Shelly and Reid Wildung; Grant VanPeursem, son of Nanci and Kendall VanPeursem; James Batchelor, son of Laurie and Chris Batchelor; Joe Schulte, son of Elizabeth and David Schulte.
Raul Berrones Pedraza and Nadia Thue will reign over the 2023 Homecoming festivities this week, including the annual Homecoming Parade on Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. On Friday night, the Bulldogs take on the Quarriers of Dell Rapids in football. Kick-off is at 7 p.m. at A.B. Campbell Stadium.
Bulldogs Fighting Cancer will host the tailgate party prior to the game, starting at 5 p.m. Roast beef sandwiches, chips, bars, and a drink will be offered. Following the football game, the student council will sponsor team games such as Dodgeball, Turkey in the Haystack, and kickball in the gym at the high school. All current students or former MHS graduates are welcome to attend.
The theme for this year’s Homecoming is Olympics — Go for the Gold. For their parade floats, the senior class will feature bobsledding; the junior class, weightlifting; the sophomore class, boxing; and the freshmen, fencing. Homecoming Buttons
Homecoming buttons will be on sale starting tomorrow September 19. Buttons cost $2. High School students can purchase them throughout the week from any student council member while supplies last. Bulldogs Fighting Cancer will also be selling beads. Buttons will be on sale to students in grades K-2 at Milbank Elementary School from 7:45 – 8:15 a.m. .on Tuesday, September 19. Buttons will be available for students in grades 3-5 to purchase on Wednesday, September 20, from 7:45 – 8:15 a.m. An order form was sent home for St. Lawrence students. Middle School students can get a button on Tuesday, September 19 through Thursday, September 21. The buttons will be for sale from 7:45 – 8:10 a.m. outside the Milbank Middle School office.
