Band students from schools across the area were selected for the Eastern Dakota Junior High Music Festival. The festival culminated in a concert held on October 10 in Lake Preston. Vicki Bjerke, retired band director from Castlewood, served as the guest conductor. 

Milbank Middle School was represented by 12 musicians:
Eighth  Graders:  Raina Untalan (flute), Macie VanLith (clarinet), Armando Chan (alto sax), Lawson Novy (baritone sax), Andrew Karels (trumpet), Tate Pew (trumpet), Lydia Gall (French horn),  Bryton Blauert (trombone), Darin Hagen (euphonium), and Rylan Wendland (percussion).

Seventh Graders —  Ella Koplin and Jada Leigh Wellnitz (both on flute).
Susan Karels, the middle and high school band director for the Milbank School District, accompanied the students to the event.
