The 32nd Annual North Area Honor Band held their finale concert on Saturday, December 2, at the Johnson Fine Arts Center at Northern State University. Milbank was represented by 20 band members.

The students, under the direction of Dr. Terry Beckler,  performed: Cajun Folk Songs. Cenotaph (Fanfare for Band), The Clapping Song. Down a Country Lane. The Glory of the Yankee Navy, Solas Ane (Yesterday’s Joy), and Tarantella. 

Susan Karels, band director for MHS and Milbank Middle School, and Deborah Rausch, band lesson assistant, accompanied the students to the event.

Front Row: Ruth Luis Gomez (junior flute);Gemma Street (junior trumpet); Camryn Sovell (sophomore trumpet); Krista Nies (sophomore trumpet); Hope Karels (senior bass clarinet); Brooke Mumbauer (senior flute); and  Isabella Vogel (senior flute).

Second Row: Mrs. Karels; Yanderyn Olivares Zuniga (sophomore alto sax); Rachel Schulte (senior clarinet); Kalli Grong (sophomore flute); Katie Kruger (junior alto sax); and Sophia Whitlow (senior clarinet).
