Brian Trapp has been named President of First Bank & Trust in Milbank. First Bank & Trust, headquartered in Brookings, is one of the largest privately held banks in South Dakota. During the company’s announcement of Trapp’s promotion, Jeff Lee, regional market president, said, “Brian has dedicated five years to First Bank & Trust as a senior agri-business banker and department manager. As a Milbank native, his commitment to the community is at the forefront of the way he leads his team. His new leadership role will allow him to expand his already positive impact with his staff and the surrounding community.”

Trapp is active as the chairperson of the Central Church Endowment Group, as a church council member, and a volunteer youth wrestling coach.

“I am excited to lead such a community-oriented branch and staff and to continue to provide the best banking experience to all our customers across the area,” Trapp said.

Trapp received his bachelor’s of science degree in banking and financial services from Northern State University. In his free time, he enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family at their cabin on Big Stone Lake. Brian’s wife, Abbey, is a special education teacher at Milbank Middle School and Milbank High School. She is also a coach for the Milbank Special Olympics and co-coordinator of the South Dakota Special Olympics Northeast Spring Track & Field event held in Milbank. The Trapps have two children, Elizabeth and Lincoln.
