Construction Started on Highway 15 South of Clear Lake

Construction began Monday, March 18, on S.D. Highway 15 from Clear Lake south to S.D. Highway 28. The initial work is focusing primarily on tree removal along the fence line. According to the South Dakota Department of Transportation, depending on the weather, Highway 15 will be closed to traffic in April to begin grading work. The project plan is to reconstruct 12 miles, including grading, structure work, and interim surfacing.

A detour will be provided along Interstate 29. Access for local businesses and residents will be maintained from the nearest mile-line road during active construction.
