Kevin Schuelke, head of Grant County Emergency Management, urges motorists to use caution while traveling on roadways tonight. According to Schuelke flooding is causing dangerous conditions in Grant County. He warns all drivers, “Please exercise caution while traveling secondary roadways, especially in the evening hours of Tuesday, May 7.”
“Due to excessive rainfall in the hills of western Grant County last evening combined with the rainfall from the last few days, the valley of Grant County is experiencing river and low-lying flooding.” He reported precipitation totals from Monday night of 2.3 inches at Marvin, 1.5 inches at Stockholm, and .5 inch at Milbank. Schulke says. “Be extremely careful and stay vigilant this evening and the next few days.”
Although county and township officials are barricading as necessary, never take a risk. Schuelke reminds everyone, “Turn Around; Don’t Drown!”
