Parker Cordingley is being lauded as a hero after he jumped in to administer aid to a Milbank resident who had fallen in his driveway. Parker, who will be a sophomore at MHS this fall, was enroute to Unity Health and Fitness on July 11, when he noticed the man appeared to be incapacitated. He stopped to help, called 911, and waited until first responders arrived.

On July 12, Milbank Police Chief Corey Hooth rewarded Parker with a certificate, a letter of recognition, and an MPD uniform patch for the immediate action he took to help a stranger. Officer Jake Folk and Parker’s parents, Michael and Britni Cordingley, and family were also present.

“This is a wonderful example of the great kids that are part of our community,” Chief Hooth commented.
