Four Wilmot students will be participating in the South Dakota All-State Choir on November 1-2 at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center in Sioux Falls. Soprano – Lorn Harstad (9), Alto – Addison Schwagel (9), Tenor – Matthew Rennie (11) and Bass – Raymond Wynia (10) will be representing the Wolves .
Mrs. Marie Ammann, the choral director at Wilmot School, said in order for a school to participate in All-State, they must be represented by a quartet. The ensemble must include a soprano, a tenor, an alto and a bass. Ammann said, “I was hoping to have a high school quartet by the year 2026 – 2027, but this group has made it possible two years ahead of schedule. It will be fantastic for them to sing with nearly 1000 students from across the state. Ammann says she is proud of this group of students as they are also the foundation for building a bigger and better choir at WHS.
