Caitlyn (Wojahn) Graf, a 2007 graduate of MHS and a 2011 graduate of Valley City State University, was inducted into the VCSU Vikings Hall of Fame for 2024. The ceremony took place at the Valley City Eagles Club. Caitlyn entered the Hall of Fame as a member of the 2010-11 women’s basketball team.

The 2010-11 team, under the guidance of head coach Jill DeVries, set a school record with 23 wins. They also won the Dakota Athletic Conference Postseason Tournament that year and qualified for the NAIA National Tournament for the first time in program history.  The Lady Vikings also ranked No. 2 nationally in academics. They posted a 3.69 team GPA.

The Lady Vikings finished the 2011 season 23-9 overall. They won their conference title by defeating rival Jamestown. Caitlyn scored in double figures in the championship game. In their first round of nationals, the Lady Vikings lost a close game to Sterling College.Caitlyn earned Third Team All-DAC honors.

Caitlyn, a 5’ 2” guard, was the defensive leader for VCSU. In her senior season, she also averaged 9.3 points per game and ranked 45th in Division II Women’s Basketball with 71 total steals – an average of 2.3 per game.

Earlier in her career as a Lady Viking, in an exciting matchup that went down to the wire, Caitlyn downed the game-winning, three-point shot in the last eight seconds to strip the win from the University of Minnesota Crookston. She finished the game with 17 points.

Caitlyn, a math teacher at MHS, was selected as Milbank’s Teacher of the Year and one of five regional teachers of the year in South Dakota in 2023. She has also coached girls basketball at Milbank Middle School.
