The Milbank FFA Chapter recently welcomed state FFA officers, Hailey Kizer and Maya Howard to MHS.  Kizer, of Howard, is the state FFA reporter and an animal science major at SDSU. Howard, of Miller, is the state FFA president. She is also a student at SDSU.

As part of their year of service, the duo travels across the state to present interactive workshops to FFA members and ag students. The seminars discuss how students can reach their potential through supervised agricultural experiences (SAE) and positive ways of working through conflict. They also highlight the value of FFA and many of the opportunities available to students enrolled in agricultural education.

Kizer thanked MHS instructor Sara Colombe for the opportunity to talk with the Milbank ag classes and said, “Your students’ enthusiasm and involvement during our time together was a testament to the strong foundation you’ve built in agricultural education. We hope our visit inspired them to continue exploring their potential as future leaders in agriculture and in life.”

Chapter visits are made possible with the support of South Dakota FFA Foundation Star Partners: Twin City Region Northland Ford Dealers (Distinguished Star Partner), Bayer (4 Star Partner), Farmers Mutual of Nebraska (4 Star Partner), SD Corn Utilization Council (4 Star Partner), CHS Foundation (4 Star Partner), Agtegra (3 Star Partner), Farm Credit Services of America (3 Star Partner).  The South Dakota FFA Association includes 111 local chapters with over 6,500 student members.
