Jackson Graf, a math teacher at Milbank Middle School, was announced as the 2025 Teacher of the Year in the Milbank School District during a surprise ceremony in the MHS Theater on Wednesday, March 5. His wife Caitlyn, who is a math teacher at the high school, and daughter, Mona, attended. MMS Principal Ryan Scoular presented the award, and Superintendent Justin Downes presented Jackson, an avid angler, with a fishing rod and reel.
The middle schoolers were also invited to the ceremony. Principal Scoular said, “We are here to celebrate one of our teachers. He does a fantastic job and is dedicated to the teaching profession and dedicated to all of you.”
Jackson thanked the group and stated,”It takes a village to do our job and what is best for the kids. Credit goes to all the people I have worked with and who have helped me over the years.”
Mr. Graf now moves on to compete for the region’s Teacher of the Year. The winner of the regional award will compete for the state title.
