Grant County Combined Appeal Signs Go Up in Milbank
Local News September 23, 2025 Staff 0

Have you noticed the Grant County Combined Appeal signs that popped up around Milbank on Monday, September 21? The signs were posted near the Old Mill, First Bank & Trust, and Wells Fargo. Jolene Rick, fundraising chair for Combined Appeal, and Clee Brakke, supporter and former MHS shop teacher who constructed the signs, persevered in securing the placards.
The sign’s traditional red thermometers are a reminder that things are heating up in the 64th great year for Combined Appeal and the 20-plus groups it helps. Businesses, individuals, and the Pacesetters come together as People Helping People to raise funds for organizations and agencies dedicated to health and human services, education, and youth development.
MHS high school students made surprise visits to area businesses last week to start a warming trend. and the blitz and other early donations raised the campaign’s temperature to six percent. The 2025 goal is $6,000 less than the goal was in 2024, but there’s still a long way to go to reach $201,000. The thermometer signs will be updated as donations come in. The campaign closes on December 31, so don’t wait. Give today!
