The 69th Annual Grant County Farm and Home Show starts Friday, January 13, and runs through Saturday, January 14. Vendors and exhibits will be open Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Milbank High School Armory.

“Over 80 vendors are ready to share their expertise,” stated Milbank Chamber Events Director Laura Kelly. “A variety of food will be served and there are free inflatables to entertain the children.

Scavenger Hunt
The 4-H Junior Leaders will host its second annual youth scavenger hunt. “Youth can pick up a card at the Grant County 4-H booth. The card leads them to other booths,” explained Grant County 4-H Youth Program Advisor Sara Koepke. “Once a card is completed, return it to the 4-H booth for a chance for prizes. Prizes will be awarded Saturday.”

Lego Contest
The annual Lego Contest is slated for Saturday, January 14, beginning at noon in the MHS lunchroom. Check-in is at 11:30 a.m. Awards will be presented at 1:30 p.m. The contest is for youth ages four and up.  Click here for additional information.

Speakers
Two speakers will give presentations. A speaker from Rural Solutions will relate ways to integrate technology and phone apps with farming practices. Arlo Levison with the Grant County Historical Society will give two talks on the history of Milbank.

Farmer Appreciation Breakfast
In conjunction with the Farm and Home Show, The Milbank Area Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Farmer Appreciation Breakfast Saturday, January 14. The meal will be served from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Milbank Visitor Center. “All active local farmers and their spouses are invited to attend the breakfast at no cost,” stated Kelly. The Chamber will make pancakes and Trevett’s Cafe will cater the remainder of the meal.

Scholarships
The Chamber, along with the Farm and Home Show agriculture committee, will offer scholarships to high school seniors who plan to further their education in the field of agriculture at a post-secondary institute. Applications will be available at the Farm and Home Show or at the chamber office prior to the show.

Exhibits
